Overview
Curtis the Violent Cat is a stealth platformer about a tuxedo cat working the neighborhood. He begs, he purrs and he keeps a list. I built it around one catch: the people who feed you are the same people who can see you.
Highlights
- Cute is a weapon. Beg and a neighbor kneels, feeds you and follows you home. Kill them while they still trust you and it scores a betrayal.
- Stealth by lamplight. People see what is lit and what they face, so you strike from the dark, from behind or from under a bush.
- They sent Dennis. Get seen and animal control turns up. Run the heat high and they send Dennis, a big man with a net and a nose for hiding cats.
- A grudge on every block. Each street has a bounty with a reason, like the jogger who ran over your tail. Between blocks you pick an Instinct for the rest of the run.
How It’s Built
I drew every cat, neighbor and streetlight in code, then lit the night so lamps throw real shadows. Every neighbor has a voice. It plays with a mouse and keys, a gamepad or on a phone.
Process
I designed and built it solo, using agentic engineering for the stealth and the lighting, with voices and sound effects designed in ElevenLabs and music made in Suno.
